
De Grey purchased this still-life painting by Elizabeth Blackadder for the collection in 1966 from the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. This domestic still life arrangement includes a variety of objects from the artist’s studio.

Still life arrangement including a glass bowl containing fruit standing on a table in the foreground. This intimate scene is scattered with an assortment of objects including a fish, various boxes and the Star of David. Blackadder incorporates objects that she has found or collected over the years in her work which she keeps in her studio. Some are gifts from friends others have caught her eye because of their shape or colour.
