This is one of five original full-size designs by Burne-Jones featuring angels with scrolls for the middle tier of the window.
Angel 1880 black chalk by Edward Burne-Jones (1833 - 1898).
Full size drawing of an angel with outstretched wings, facing right, the flame of the Holy Spirit issuing from her forehead. She holds a lengthy scroll. Burne-Jones designed five angels with scrolls for the middle tier of the window. In the actual window the angels’ scrolls are inscribed with verses from the twenty-third psalm.
