
Burne-Jones also produced this new stained glass window design for Morris and Company. It can be seen in the centre of the east window of Ponsonby Parish Church, Cumbria.

The infant Jesus lies sleeping; beside him kneels Mary, her eyes closed and her hands joined in prayer, and Joseph, leaning on his staff. Two angels kneel to their left, one of whom plays a musical instrument whilst the other holds a scroll of music.
